We're currently seeking a Junior Microsoft Developer candidate for the Commonwealth of Kentucky's State Board of Elections.

DESCRIPTION:

The Kentucky State Board of Elections is a strictly apolitical agency. We serve all the citizens of Kentucky equally, regardless of political affiliation, with respect and regard for privacy. As such, it is required that detailed information regarding agency business must not be shared on social media or discussed outside the agency.

This position is a full-time support/growth role with an emphasis on learning, adaptability, and excellent communication skills. You will be assisting with the development and maintenance of a number of in-house systems, the two primary ones are the State Voter Registration System and the Online Voter Registration portal, used by both government employees and the general public.

A Computer Science degree, or equivalent, as well as a passion to provide excellent software using top-tier technologies and processes is required. To excel in this position, you must be a self-starter who pays attention to detail and has a willingness to be mentored and to learn best-practices in developing and maintaining enterprise-level software as well as data-driven public-facing websites.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

· Must be dependable, on-time, detail oriented and willing to keep politics out of the work environment.

· Excellent listening and self-driven research skills.

· Willingness to learn in-house systems and understand pertinent state laws for both:

o County-based government employees

o General Public

· Ability to work efficiently in both relaxed and demanding situations.

· Must be a trustworthy and dependable self-starter who actively seeks new skills and knowledge.

· Familiarity with basic software development technologies.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
